reroy's thoughts on chiropractors

I have recently discovered that there are many different types of chiropractors. But I don't see how private health funds still classify chiropractors under 'alternative medicine'. No one has raised an eyebrow when I mention I go to the chiro, and I know so many people who go! I think that its time that chiropractor's were taken off the alternative list and given a place of their own. They're expensive, and Medibank Private hardly give me anything back. Today the first appointment with my new chiro was $100, and Medibank are so cheap, they only paid $31. Like a really bad date, haha! My new chiro is a neurological chiropractor. Apparently there are two or 3 main types of chiropractors. I am learning so much!
It sucks though, cos you should be able to use money from things I don't use - dentures, etc, to things I use way more - chiros.

Anyway, it turns out I'm broken/messed up. Already knew that. As soon as he looked at my x-rays he was like, ugh, oh man. Etc. I'm used to it now! He also made me do these balance things on some machine which measures which way I sway and lean easiest, haha! Turns out I don't like leaning backwards, or to the right. So this means I tend not to take overhead catches as I might not land. Oh dear. But yeah, I guess I wouldn't be a very good footy player! He also suggested I defend with my left arm when playing Netball as I'll probably be able to reach further. Interesting. I will give it a burl.
Also, my tense jaw is apparently TMJ probably to do with my neck.
But one good thing to come out of this is that it would be so much worse if I didn't have good abs. He called them "rock-hard" yesss! lol. So I have to do some exercises on a fit ball and go back next week for some kneading back into place! Hopefully I'm on the road to recovery!

Reroy's Update

So after a long break I'm back. I need a place to post my thoughts, and I think no one cares around me! Haha, or I just have too many thoughts, and it gets annoying after a while.

Today at the supermarket, I went to buy lightbulbs. Seeing as they are getting rid of the old lightbulbs, there are all these new fancy ones there. And they are SO expensive. Seriously like $7 for two. So I took the cheap way and got what was left of the old ones, cos they're on clearance. I'm so poor, I can't afford to spend money on expensive globes!

So now I am single for the first time in two years. Its weird but fun. Interesting to get out there and notice guys. I was so shut off for two years, as I was a good girlfriend, and really didn't notice any other guys. Now I'm like a kid in a candy store! I love going out and checking out new venues and observing the scenery! I am keen to go on some dates, cos I really haven't been on any. I'm just excited to meet new people!

I bought Arctic Monkeys tickets today, and am totally stoked for it. That and Falls over new years. Will be totally sweet. Have some great things planned for summer, I am really looking forward to it!

Now all I need is a job, then I will have some money to spend over summer! :)

reroy's thoughts on exams and holidays!

So happy.
Seriously. Exams are over, and I am able to leave my desk for the first time in ages without feeling guilty! Yay!
Anyway, so exams are over, which means holidays are here! I have so many things to do and I'm so happy to be able to do them, no matter how boring they seem!
Here's my list so far:
- Fix/sew clothes that need to be altered
- Hang out with friends I have been neglecting
- Go out
- Make tshirts
- Buy stuff
-Print photos from my overseas trip and put in an album!
SO excited to be able to do this stuff!
I am also in the stages of planning driving to Perth with Ryan next month! Should be fun, we got a sweet deal on a campervan relocation, just have to buy food and petrol etc. Damn expensive petrol, maybe it's not the best time to go! Ah well! We are planning to go to lots of op shops along the way too! And geocaches! Kind of a nerdy adventure. I want to make us tshirts as well.
Ok well I have lots to do now, so exciting!

reroy's thoughts on may

May, what a month it has been so far. Ryan went and now is back, and I have had SO many assignments due. Ugh. I got a D(istinction) for one though, so I was pretty stoked with that. Now I am procrastinating, which is bad.
This is the time of year when people start leaving, so that's not fun. Some of my Scandinavian friends are heading home after studying and living here, so there's lots of opportunities to go out lately, which is good, cos i have been a bit of a hermit before that.
Ryan took me on a date on Friday, which was nice. We saw the new Indiana Jones movie, and I liked it, it was funny and cool, but a little unbelievable in parts, haha. We also went to the Pancake Parlour, and I was a little cut when they told me strawberries are out of season, cos my chocolate pancake was not really complete without them. :(
I bought some new tan boots the other day, and they are HOT! I really like them. They make me even taller, but I've come to a point in my life where I don't really care if I'm taller than anyone else, as it is usually the case. And I figure if I'm already taller than everyone else, what's another inch or two?
Anyway, sports law assignment is calling me, I better get back to it.

reroy's thoughts on uni

Over it! Damn - I am so glad I'm in my last year. Have a bad assignment which I'm struggling to start/do/get into due in a couple of days. Argh! So frustrating!
Also - on another note, my poor car! Effie struggled to netball last night, and back, pretty much put-putted there. Oh. I have never had any troubles with this car, so I am worried. Hopefully Ryan will be able to sort it out while I try and get into my assignment.
But right now I am hungry!

reroy's thoughts on a birthday date in melbourne

So yesterday I took Ryan for a belated birthday date in Melbourne. I love the city, and wanted to show him places we haven't been before, so I chose the southbank area to base my date.
First on the agenda after a pleasant walk along the Yarra was a journey up Eureka tower! It was pretty cool up there, and popular - as we went up in time for the sunset! It was fun to see Melbourne from that angle, and I was a better tour guide than I thought, pointing out many parts of Melbourne and the surrounding areas, like Flemington Racecourse, Studley Park, St Kilda, the docks, Albert Park, and much more! I'm glad I have a good mind for knowing where things are, cos it definitely helped when I pointed landmarks out. I liked the Eureka tower; and it would definitely be up there with my favourites! (I have been to lots of towers in the past few months - Top of the Rock - Rockefeller Centre, New York; CN Tower, Toronto; Sky Tower, Auckland).
After that we went to Riverland bar, which has a really nice atmosphere but is a bit expensive for my student budget! Then we walked over to southbank (again) and ate at La Camera - which was really great, and reasonable prices for Melbourne too - Ryan's gnocchi was $17, and my risotto $22. Yummy, yummy food!
Another place we went to after was E Fifty-five on Elizabeth street. It's a cool little bar, chilled, with funky old couches and a laidback attitude.
All new places for a Melburnian even! I love Melbourne!

reroy's thoughts on ricoh

So, in case you don't know, my Ricoh R6 camera is a piece of shit. Has been replaced twice (meaning I'm onto my 3rd camera), and number two was repaired twice, and the latest one just got back from the repair shop. I am pretty sick of this camera and brand, and want a new camera - and nothing to do with Ricoh. I have contacted where I got the camera from and also Ricoh (and Tasco, who took them over), and have pretty much gotten nowhere.
I picked up my newly repaired camera today - and was positively fuming when I read the Tasco repair description. Here's what was written (the important part anyway):

Sand/Grit inside lens, warranty not applicable, cleaned out grit/sand at best, recalibrated as required. Chargeable repaid performed at no charge on goodwill. No further warranty applies to sand/grit damaged lens.

I have so many problems with that paragraph, I don't know where to start! I will start at the beginning.
I find it very hard to believe there was grit/sand in the lens, for two main reasons. 1. I have been nowhere near sand since I got this new camera, at all. I went on holidays to Canada for gods sake. I haven't been on beaches with my camera, and I haven't been near dirt either! 2. This same problem seemed to be prevalent with my previous R6's, so I took the advice of the Ricoh lady, and bought a case that completely covered the camera! I'm sorry, but what more do I have to do to protect this crappy camera from the so called 'grit/sand'. It is completely asburd. I haven't been near grit/sand, and have a completely enclosed case, just how precious and shit is this camera?
And because of their crappy camera - which I didn't treat badly at all, I looked after it, because it is precious after all; I am no longer entitled to warranty under this issue?! Sorry, what? Why the hell do you have a 12 month warranty if you're going to exclude things! And those times when the camera breaks down, you just assume it was the stupid users fault? Are you serious? Did they just get so sick of fixing my camera that they made that crap up?!
I am still fuming about this issue, but I don't know who to write to next. No one listens to me, they don't seem to care that I am completely unsatisfied, even though I noticed thats something they aim to achieve - customer satisfaction! I don't want this camera anymore - its a worthless piece of junk that always breaks down. I'm guessing I'll be having this problem in about 2 months time - once again; but next time I will be denied a free repair. What a joke. I already wasted $500 on this piece of junk that couldn't be worth more than $250.
If anyone has any suggestions - please let me know, for I am very angry!

reroy's thoughts on barry hall

Now, I don't for one second condone what Barry Hall did to Brent Staker on Saturday night. But I do feel sorry for Barry Hall. He has such a tough/bad reputation, but before this incident, his last suspension at the tribunal was in 2002 - 6 years ago! I think it a bit tough that he has been controlling his anger (until Saturday) for so long, yet people still label him. He has worked hard, and this brief lapse has caused everyone to jump on the 'Barry Hall is a thug' bandwagon once again. True, before 2002, his tribunal record was not great at all, but those were back in the days when he played for St Kilda (1996-2001). I noticed an article in the paper today that listed the amount of times players have faced charges at the AFL tribunal - and amazingly enough, Barry Hall is not top. Some people may be shocked to hear this, but he is fifth on the list of current players! Shane Crawford tops the list, thats right, cheeky Shane Crawford - who doesn't have a reputation of being a dirty player - he has visited the tribunal the most times of any current player. It's amazing what influence the media has on our perceptions of players. Any incident Barry Hall is involved in, gets massively blown out of proportion, while golden (dirty) boy Crawford has never gained a bad reputation.
It's also interesting to note that as well as Jeff Farmer, and Josh Carr, the person who came in fourth place on the list, is one of my most despised players - Dustin Fletcher. I can't stand this guy, and while he should have a disgraceful reputation, he doesn't. His preferred method of gaining attention at the tribunal is tripping, which is a disgusting tactic, but probably considered minor compared to Barry Hall.
Anyway, Hall has a bit of karma when he broke his wrist Saturday night after an incident with a fence; while Staker will probably play this week. People are asking for him to be suspended for up to 10 weeks - poor Baz. He is sorry, and sore. And I just bloody bought him in my dreamteam last week, dammit!

reroy's thoughts on aussie pizza

I was thinking about pizza before, and how I really like Aussie pizza. Yum. After doing a google search to try and find 'Aussie pizza recipes' (even though I am well aware of the ingredients), I was quite dismayed to find no direct results for a recipe. Sniff*
What has this world come to? Why is no one talking about Aussie pizza? Is it just a Victorian thing? I am quite confused and find it bizarre that the term 'Aussie pizza' is not really mentioned anywhere on the world wide web.
Anyway, all this talking about pizza has gotten me feeling quite hungry. In case you're one of those poor people who has never heard of an Aussie pizza, here are the ingredients:
Tomato, cheese (as is on most pizzas); ham, bacon, egg.
Yum
Some silly people put onion on, but I'm not a fan of that.
My favourite places to buy Aussie pizza are:
Bunyip Pizza
and somewhere in the Carlton North area -  I will find the name of it
- Turns out this place is located at 2E Brunswick St, Brunswick East, and is known by up to 3 names:
- Carmelo's Cafe
- Carmelo's Wood Fired Pizza and Restaurant
- Signore de Pizza
I'm pretty sure it goes by either of the first two, but anyway. The phone number 9387 2121 is the key connector!
FYI: I just found this website that mentions Aussie pizza! Hurrah! Though it's not anything we already didn't know!
